OCTOBER 2020

The theme of Inclusivity runs through the October Messenger. We all have a shared responsibility to become participative members of the Church and not rely on the hierarchical separation of clerical and lay people. We have a duty of care also for our natural environment, our ‘common home’ as Pope Francis says. And we should recognise that an inclusive church takes many forms, all rooted in a recognition of and identification with our shared humanity with others. Plus, a recent survey concludes that great as digital technology has been for parishes during recent months, a webcam service will never replace the value people place in an active and physical engagement at mass. Plus regular gardening, prayer, cookery, crosswords and Art features.

RE: LINK
A pull-out supplement for teenagers and younger readers that addresses the subject and concerns of Catholicism today. RE:LINK supports the Junior Cert curriculum and is an educational resource for all teachers of Religion Studies.

This month RE:LINK chats with Revd Tim Irvine, rector of the Mountmellick community of parishes in Co Laois, about his role, his background and the Anglican faith.
